People look out for people.
Message checks, with someone you trust.
A text says a parcel is held. An email says your bank account is locked. A WhatsApp message says a grandchild needs money. Tamotsu helps you and someone you trust look at it together, and decide what to do next.
How it works
Show the message
A person brings a message they are unsure about to someone they trust, such as a Digital Champion at a hub.
Check it together
The text is checked in a few seconds. Tamotsu looks at the wording and links and describes any warning signs it finds.
Talk it through
Each result explains what to look out for and what to do next, so every check is also a small lesson in spotting the signs.
What Tamotsu never does
It never says a message is “safe”
The kindest result is “no warning signs were found”, always with a reminder to check for yourself.
It never labels a person
Results describe the message, never the sender.
It never gives scores
Words, not percentages. No automated check is that certain.
It never keeps the message
The text is used for the check and then discarded. Nothing about the person who received it is recorded.
For digital inclusion hubs
Tamotsu is built for assisted use. Staff and volunteers check a message alongside the person who received it, on a simple web page with nothing to install.
- A sign-in for each staff member or volunteer, using a role such as “Volunteer 3”, never a name
- A warning before checking any text that may contain personal details
- Prompts to help you talk each result through
- “Spot the signs”: practice messages and a short before-and-after quiz
- One button to tell us when you disagree with a result. We review every one.
We are running free pilots with hubs. If you would like to try Tamotsu with your learners, we would love to hear from you.
